Jim is originally from Chesapeake, Va. and is a 1987 graduate of East Carolina University. Jim moved with his wife, Naomi McLaurin Riley, to her hometown of Fuquay-Varina in 1992.

He is currently employed by Four Oaks Bank and Trust where he serves as City Executive and Retail Banking Manager. Jim has been in banking for 23 years. Jim has served for numerous church and community organizations including the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary International, the FVHS PTA, Fuquay-Varina Downtown Revitalization and the Fuquay-Varina Athletic Assoc.

Jim and Naomi have two sons, Garrett and Bryce, who attend the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and NC State University. Jim’s oldest brother, Michael Riley, recently retired as captain in the US Naval Reserves. Jim’s dad served in the Pacific during WWII.

Tim is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from King's College in Wilkes-Barre, PA and his Master of Social Work from Widener University in Chester, PA.

Tim has over 14 years of work experience in the Human Services field and has dedicated his career to working with our nation's military veterans. Tim’s love of country was instilled by his father, a Vietnam era Air Force veteran and his uncle, a Vietnam War Navy veteran.

Tim moved from Pennsylvania to North Carolina in 2007 to further his career and has settled into Creedmoor with his wife and their two Labrador Retrievers. Tim is also an avid sports fan and memorabilia collector.

Sheri is originally from Flemington, New Jersey. She relocated to Fuquay-Varina in 1983 to provide military packaging for Angus Fire Armour (now Kidde). After the one-year contract was completed, she and her husband Glen decided to make a go of the packaging company they had been managing (Far Packaging Co.). Thirty years later Sheri and Glen are still running Far Packaging Company performing domestic, military and export packaging.

Sheri has served with numerous church, school and community organizations including local PTA’s, Wake County PTA, the Fuquay-Varina Junior Women’s Club and the Fuquay-Varina Athletic Association (FVAA).

Sheri and Glen have two sons. Their oldest Michael, daughter-in-law and granddaughter live in Raleigh. Michael has also joined the family packaging business. Cole is a senior at Fuquay-Varina High School and will be attending UNC-Asheville in the fall of 2012.

Sheri is appreciative of the opportunity to serve on the board of MMIA in hopes that she will be able to give back to those men and women who sacrifice their lives daily for our freedom.

Nancy Pomeranz - Secretary

Nancy is an Air Force brat, having spent her childhood and teen years moving from base to base in the United States and overseas. Her father was a dentist in the Air Force, served in Viet Nam, and retired at the rank of full colonel after 34 years of service to his country.

A graduate of Western Carolina University with a BS in Business Administration, Nancy moved to Wake County in 1978 and began a career with State Government. She retired in October 2010 after serving 32 years with the NC Department of Revenue, the last 16 of which as Director of the Personal Taxes Division. Nancy and her husband, Jim, live in Cary and have a daughter who lives in Washington, DC, and a son, daughter- in- law, and one grandchild who live in Hendersonville, NC.

Nancy appreciates the sacrifices made by our men and women in the armed forces and is honored to serve MMIA in assisting our veterans.

Jim Breece

Jim was a career Naval Officer, graduating from the United States Naval Academy in 1961. During his 29 year career he commanded three Navy ships and served in direct support of the Secretary of the Navy and the Chief of Naval Operations in Navy program planning and execution. His last assignment was as Chief of Staff to commander Military Sealift Command, Pacific, responsible for ships and civilian crews supporting Pacific Fleet Navy ships and managed merchant Department of Defense shipping in the Pacific and Far East. Jim retired in 1990 at the grade of Captain.

Jim is a midwesterner, growing up in St. Louis, Missouri. He and his wife Janie moved to Fuquay-Varina following his retirement from the Navy.  Since moving to Fuquay-Varina in 1994 Jim has developed his business as a professional golf club fitter and golf club maker and is on staff at Crooked Creek Golf Club. Jim is a member of American Legion Post 116 in Fuquay-Varina, was a member of the Board of the Professional Clubmakers Society and is an active member of the Association of Golf Clubfitting Professionals.

Keith McCombs

Keith is a 1976 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Administration. 

He retired in 2009 from the State of North Carolina after working with the NC Department of Revenue after more than 32 years. He was the Department’s Chief Deputy prior to retirement and before that he served as the Department’s Chief Financial Officer for 21 years.  He grew up in Faith, North Carolina and moved to Wake County in 1976. 

Keith and his wife Julia live in Fuquay-Varina and have two sons.  One son, Adam, is a 2004 graduate of the United States Military Academy is currently a captain in the United States Army.  Eric is a 2009 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and completed his masters in 2010 at the University of Miami in Florida. He currently works as the Director of Basketball of Operations for the Women’s Basketball Program at UNC Charlotte. 

Keith’s dad served in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. He is proud to be a member of MMIA to help give back in a small way to those who have given so much for all of us.

Beth Austin a native of Fuquay-Varina has over 33 years of military service with the North Carolina National Guard (NCNG). She received her Officer’s Commission in 1980 through the Officer Candidate program at FT Benning, Georgia. A veteran of Desert Shield/Desert Storm with a return to Active Duty in support of Operation Iraq Freedom, she is a career logistician who has commanded at all levels from Platoon to Brigade. In June 2011, Beth was promoted as the NCNG’s first female to attain the rank of General Officer and continues her military career.

Beth and her husband Mike (a Vietnam veteran) lives in Willow Spring and have three children, Michael, Balinda and Julie. Their son Michael served six years in the Navy and daughter Julie is currently serving as a Captain in the United States Army and has deployed once in support of Operation Iraq Freedom.

Beth is proud to be a soldier, and is proud to be a member of MMIA so she can give back to those who fight for our freedom and way of life everyday.
