Roger Lush

Roger Lush is a retired active-duty Senior Non-Commissioned Officer (First Sergeant) of the United States Army. A native Chicagoan, Roger moved to Grayson County, KY in 1974, residing with his family in Peonia, KY, before proudly serving in the Army from 1985 to 2005.


Roger’s military assignments include Fort Stewart, Georgia; Hardheim, West Germany; Fort Knox, Kentucky; Fort Riley, Kansas; Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; and Fort Benning, Georgia. His military duties were highlighted by being recognized as Honor Graduate of his Advanced Individual Training School; Commandant’s List for the Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Non Commissioned Officer Course, Advanced Non Commissioned Officer Course, and Drill Sergeant School; recognized as the Advanced Non Commissioned Officer Course Leadership Award Recipient; a member of the prestigious Sergeant Audie Murphy Club; participating in Operations Desert Shield / Desert Storm, Operation Desert Spring, Bright Star, and deploying as First Sergeant in support of the Global War on Terrorism.


His awards and decorations include the Global War on Terrorism Medal; Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Southwest Asia Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars; Meritorious Service Medal (4); Army Commendation Medal (5); Army Achievement Medal (6); Army Good Conduct Medal (6), Drill Sergeant Badge; Army Engineer Association’s Bronze de Fleury Medal; Deutches Sportabzeichen (German Sports Badge); and Air Assault Tab.

Upon retiring from the military in 2005, Roger joined Alliance Careers, a firm dedicated with assisting transitioning military members into corporate America while serving as a Recruiter, Business Development Manager, Senior Partner, Sr. Vice President, and part owner.

Roger received his A.S., General Studies, from Vincennes University, and his B.A., Leadership in Public Sector, from NC State University. He lives in Raleigh, North Carolina with his wife Denise (Langley and is the proud father of three children – Elizabeth, Rachel, and Travis, and one grandson – Braylon…all residing in greater Raleigh, North Carolina area.

Roger is a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the Patriot Guard, the USO, and the GCHS Football Alumni Association.
